Le Petit Chateau Restaurant, nestled in the picturesque Block Arcade of Melbourne, offers a delightful escape into French gastronomy. Customers rave about its charming decor, which creates an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a quaint Parisian café. The menu showcases a variety of savory and sweet crepes, each crafted with precision. Many reviews highlight the impeccable hot chocolate, as well as the delicious savoury crepes like the Campagnarde with bacon and fried egg, and the exquisite Figs and Cheese option.
However, not all dishes receive unanimous praise. The Ocean Smoked Salmon Crepe, while visually appealing, was deemed slightly dry by a few guests. Yet, others found joy in sweeter offerings, particularly the pistachio crepe, which has garnered a loyal following.
Another highlight of Le Petit Chateau is its welcoming staff, known for their friendly service, which enhances the overall dining experience. Despite some seating limitations—especially the coveted window tables—visitors often agree that the ambiance and quality of food make any wait worthwhile. A visit to Le Petit Chateau is not just a meal; it's a charming experience that captures the heart and palate alike.

Based on 883 reviewsLe Petit Chateau Restaurant in Melbourne’s Block Arcade is widely appreciated for its charming French-inspired ambiance and visually appealing interior, making it a favored spot for casual dining and coffee. Customers frequently highlight the friendly and accommodating service, alongside a diverse all-day brunch menu featuring both savory and sweet crepes. While many find the crepes and hot beverages delightful, there are occasional remarks about inconsistent food flavors and limited seating, especially in the main dining area. Overall, the restaurant is praised for its inviting atmosphere and quality offerings, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists seeking a taste of French cuisine in a cozy setting.
We came for a holiday and we both agreed this is the best Coffee shop we have ever been to. The food and drinks were of high-quality. Tables fill up fast, but it is Worth the weight if you have to wait 10 mins. We would come to Melbourne just for this. All the staff are lovely and very accommodating as well and a big thanks to them for the amazing time/food.
A pretty little French cafe in classic Block Arcade. All day brunch menu filled with French delights. We had one savoury and one sweet crepe. The savoury was filled with sliced beef and melted shredded cheese, a salad on top, it covered the entire plate. The sweet was pistachio crumbs and strawberry, with a pistachio cream and ice cream on top. It had a nice puffier crepe. Almond latte was pretty good, iced latte had a quality coffee base. Interior decoration had flowers over walls and stairs like a wedding venue.
The café itself was cute and aesthetically pleasing—great for photos. I tried the Ocean Salmon Crepe (smoked salmon, avocado, and cream cheese) for $25.00, but unfortunately, it was dry and lacked flavor. On the brighter side, the tiramisu crepe was quite nice. Coffee was average. Service, however, was good and friendly.
Located in Melbourne CBD in the Arcade block. I would only recommend this place as it has a nice decor and atmosphere, a change of environment. Small inside with limited seating but has plenty of seating outside. If you want to be seated in the main pretty room seats by the window, you would have to be accompanied by 3 other people to be able to be seated (table of 4) as they will not allow a couple of people to sit there. There were a couple of small tables that were right against the fridge in the same room but felt very restricted with space. I tried asking if we could sit by the window and that we would be quick in and out and wanted some photos by the window seat, but was flat-out refused. Even though during our entire stay no one came and used those tables. It would've made our day, but anyway it's their rule. It's known for its hot chocolate with whipped cream which is quite pricey for the whipped cream alone at $4.50. It was mediocre. We ordered the Ocean crepe (Smoked Salmon, avocado and cream cheese $25.00 which was also mediocre. Maybe the other dishes might have tasted better. I'm only rating it for its decor as it is unique and pretty. If you want to catch up with friends in a pretty environment and try the other drinks on their menu.
This adorable little cafe has beautiful interiors that feel like a little taste of France. It is a great place for breakfast, lunch or quick coffee. The staff were super friendly and the owner is lovely too. - The hot chocolate paired with the whipped cream was divine. - The savoury crepes had a perfect balance of flavours. - The sweet crepes were the best- Pistachio had to be my favourite.
The crepe and granola were delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. The coffee was ok but the location fantastic. Definitely worth a visit just for the Block arcade.
